IT budget growth expected to decrease in 2015

Healthcare IT budget growth appears to be slowing down, as just 51 percent of health IT leaders expected their budget to increase in 2015, compared to 68 percent who expected their budget to increase in 2014, according to survey results from TEKsystems.

While budgets may not be growing, 64 percent of respondents said they are confident in their IT department's ability to satisfy business demands in 2015, up from 59 percent in 2014.

The survey also gauged the prioritization of organizational and business challenges. Eighty-one percent of IT leaders indicated operational issues were the No. 1 challenge, followed by risk management.

The survey gathered answers from healthcare IT leaders, such as CIOs, vice presidents of IT, IT directors and IT hiring managers.
