Homeland Security cybersecurity exec resigns

Danny Toler, the Department of Homeland Security's deputy assistant secretary in the Office of Cybersecurity and Communications, will retire at the end of the month, according to Federal News Radio.

Mr. Toler has served in the federal government for 37 and a half years. He joined DHS as the director of its Federal Network Resilience division in 2012 and later served as the director of the Network Security Deployment division. He moved into the office's deputy assistant secretary role in 2016.

In an email to staff obtained by Federal News Radio, Mr. Toler said he felt it was time to leave the office, as Jeanette Manfra  will begin to take over the duties of the office's assistant secretary.
