Hartford HealthCare, GE Healthcare embark on 7-year partnership

Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare and GE Healthcare revealed plans to embark on a seven-year partnership to improve patient wait times and efficiency of care.

The organizations will engage in a series of projects utilizing data analytics to reduce patient wait times and improve communication between providers and facilities during a seven-year period.

Officials said the goal of the partnership is to enhance the patient experience through more efficient access to diagnostic testing and treatment and to use advanced analytics to support ongoing operations and clinical improvements, among other goals.

The financial terms of the partnership, if any, were not disclosed.

"Through this collaboration, we continue to build a world-class healthcare system for the people we have the privilege to serve," said Elliot Joseph, CEO of Hartford HealthCare. "We are redesigning the way we organize and deliver care. We are focused on ensuring patients get the care they need, where they need it and to coordinate that care so it is faster, safer and ultimately more affordable."
