Government won't share info on HealthCare.gov security measures

The Obama administration will not publicly share information relating to security measures of HealthCare.gov, saying releasing such information might allow hackers to break in, according to an Associated Press report.

The AP filed a Freedom of Information Act request for documents about the security software and computer systems behind the online exchanges late last year when Republicans had voiced concerns regarding the security of the website, according to the report.

"We concluded that releasing this information would potentially cause an unwarranted risk to consumers' private information, Aaron Albright, CMS spokesperson, said, according to the report.

Attorney General Eric Holder has asked the agencies to consider if parts of the files can be shared while censoring sensitive passages, but CMS said it would not release any of the records, according to the report.
