Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M., is partnering with University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque to bring telemedicine services to its pediatric patients, according to a Silver City Sun-News report.
The new telemedicine program will allow Gila physicians and patients to interact with caregivers at UNM Hospital via a computer and video camera unit. The program aims to ensure that children can gain access to specialized care without leaving their communities.
The telemedicine services are being offered through the Child Ready telehealth program, which includes seven participating healthcare facilities.
