Figure 1, a Toronto, Canada-based social network service for healthcare professionals, raised $10 million in a Series B funding round.
Here are three things to know about Figure 1's funding.
1. Kensington Capital Partners, a Toronto-based private investment firm, led the funding round. Other investors included Samsung NEXT, John Hancock/Manulife Financial, Hedgewood and WTI.
2. Three existing investors — Union Square Ventures, Rho Canada Ventures and Version One Ventures — also contributed to Figure 1's Series B funding.
3. The Figure 1 app enables healthcare professionals to share medical cases and images with one another.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with investors who understand why we come to work," said Figure 1 CEO Gregory Levey. "Using these resources, the coming years will see Figure 1 integrate new technologies in order to completely transform itself — bolstering the already astounding capabilities of the network."
