Everseat to offer insurance eligibility verification with PokitDok

Everseat, an athenahealth-partnered patient-physician scheduling platform, plans to offer insurance eligibility verification.

The platform will do this through its PokitDok Eligibility Application Programming Interface, which manages health insurance carrier connectivity, file validation, encryption and transmission. PokitDok allows physicians to check a patient's co-insurance, copay, deductible and out-of-pocket amounts, as well as other benefit information, before the patient comes to an appointment.

"PokitDok is the magic bullet behind Everseat's latest strategy for boosting patient access and getting their healthcare providers reimbursed on time," Jeff Peres, CEO and co-founder of Everseat, said in a statement. "Two things modern healthcare has to deliver every day are easy access for patients and increased efficiency for their providers. Securing accurate and complete reimbursement starts with unlocking data for a simple, instant insurance eligibility check. Thanks to this integration with PokitDok, patients using Everseat can request appointments with their fingertips and healthcare providers get more confidence they'll be paid on time."
