Deadline Nears for Physician EHR Reporting, Attestation

Dec. 31 is the deadline for physicians and other eligible professionals to report and attest to meaningful use in calendar year 2012, according to an AHA News report.

To benefit from Medicare EHR incentives, EPs must meet federal requirements for meaningful use by completing their 90- or 365-day reporting period and attest to meaningful use by Feb. 28, 2013.

According to the report, EPs should visit the CMS attestation website before the deadline so they are familiar with the complex process if they wish to attest. In addition, EPs participating in the Medicaid EHR program should check the website for their state's attestation deadline.
