CVS Health to open digital innovation lab

Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS Health announced plans to open a Digital Innovation Lab in Boston to become the central location of CVS Health's digital services development.

The goal of the lab is to be an "open concept workspace" that supports ideas and innovation to create digital technology to enhance the customer experience.

The Digital Innovation Lab has the capacity to bring on approximately 100 new employees, 90 percent of which are anticipated to be new hires.

Brian Tilzer, senior vice president and chief digital officer of CVS Health, said selecting a space in Boston was strategic due to the growing tech sector and its reputation as a top healthcare city.

"As we expand our digital team and invest in this part of our business, we are truly passionate about using technology to create tools that do not exist anywhere else so we can empower our customers with a highly personalized pharmacy and retail experience across all channels," Mr. Tilzer said.
