CVS Health to link clinical EHR data to Lawrence Memorial, Lehigh Valley Health

Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS Health has entered into clinical affiliations with two healthcare organizations, which will result in an electronic channel of communication through the organizatins' EHR systems.

Lawrence (Kan.) Memorial Hospital and Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network will connect with CVS Health's EHR. Providers will have access to prescription and visit information, and patients will have access to clinical support, medication counseling, chronic disease monitoring and wellness programs at CVS stores and MinuteClinic locations.

"By allowing our electronic health records and information systems to communicate and share important information about the patients we collectively serve, we will have a more comprehensive view of our patients, which can aid in health care decision making and help ensure patients adhere to important medications for chronic diseases," said Troyen Brennan, MD, CMO of CVS Health.
