Ms. Dawson's IT approach is geared toward using technology to support business operations and transform healthcare delivery in a patient-centric manner.

At Emerus-affiliated micro-hospitals, Ms. Dawson was instrumental in slashing the patient wait time to 15 minutes, compared to the national average of four hours in a traditional emergency rooms. She oversaw the implementation of a staff communication system and designed a system that captured real-time, wireless critical cardiac alarms and facilitated better hospitalist coordination of patient transfers.

Prior to joining Emerus in December 2011, Ms. Dawson was vice president of IT at Houston-based Nexus Health Systems. She also previously served as vice president of IT of Diabetes America, Inc., and lead clinical information systems analyst at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
