CIO Marc Chasin: Pursuing interoperability for quality care

Marc Chasin, MD, MMM, CPE, CHCIO, is vice president and CIO/CMIO at the seven-hospital St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho.

In addition to his position at the health system, he is a boardmember of the Idaho Health Data Exchange and chair of the Care Everywhere Network at Epic Systems. He is a CHIME-certified healthcare CIO and is chair of the CareQuality Trust Framework Committee.

Dr. Chasin is an interoperability enthusiast and is interested in how health IT fits into the triple aim. He Chasin was responsible for the implementation of the Epic EHR at his system, where he has been CMIO since 2010 and CIO since 2012.

Before then he served as a managing partner for First Care Physicians Associates between 2001 and 2006 and served in many capacities at Bon Secours Charity Health System in Marriotsville, Md., including as CMO and CMIO.
