American College of Cardiology, Geisinger Health System and xG Health form JV for heart failure patients

The American College of Cardiology, Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System and xG Health Solutions have launched a new joint initiative to improve clinical care processes and outcomes for patients with heart failure.

Under the new initiative, ACC, Geisinger and xG Health — a healthcare solutions company launched by Geisinger in 2013 — will develop and implement a software application based on ACC's clinical practice guidelines, Geisinger's ProvenCare methodology and feedback from ACC members. The software application will provide clinicians with easy access to clinical practice guidelines and information on best practices for managing congestive heart failure.

"We are very enthusiastic about this partnership with the American College of Cardiology. It builds on our ProvenCare methodologies in ensuring we provide high-quality care to every patient, every time through evidenced-based protocols," said David T. Feinberg, MD, president and CEO of Geisinger.

This app marks the latest in a suite of clinical software apps developed by xG Health.
