AMA to webcast live town hall event airing physician concerns over federal EHR regulations

Government involvement has resulted in EHR technology interfering with face-to-face physician-patient discussions and increased physician workload, according to a statement from the Chicago-based American Medical Association.

In response to impact of government regulations on EHRs, the AMA and the Atlanta-based Medical Association of Georgia will hold a town hall-style meeting to discuss physician concerns about current and future regulations.

During the event, the AMA will discuss its national initiative to reframe federal regulations and encourage better-designed EHRs.

The live event will be a webcast and is scheduled to take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EST on Monday, July 20, 2015 at The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North. Registration is available for both online and in-person attendees.
