AMA isn't resting on MU criticism, announces 3rd Break the Red Tape town hall

Regardless of the uncertain pallor CMS acting administrator Andy Slavitt's comments have cast over the future of the meaningful use program, the American Medical Association isn't letting up on its criticism of it. On Jan. 26, the AMA will go forward with hosting its third town hall-style Break the Red Tape meeting, this time in Seattle, to encourage frustrated physicians to speak up about their EHR horror stories and meaningful use miseries.

In 2015, the AMA hosted Break the Red Tape meetings in Atlanta and Boston, during which physicians were encouraged to speak up about how EHR technology and government intervention in care through programs like meaningful use impact their ability to deliver care. Many of these statements and stories were recorded for hosting on the AMA's Break the Red Tape website.

The Jan. 26 event will be held at the Glaser Auditorium at the SwedishMedicalCenter in Seattle and will livestream beginning at 7 p.m. PST at breaktheredtape.org.
