Acumen Physician Solutions, a subsidiary of Waltham, Mass.-based Fresenius Medical Care North America, partnered with Verona, Wis.-based Epic Systems Corp. to develop Acumen 2.0.
Acumen 2.0 will be a significant upgrade to Acumen's current health IT products focused on nephrologists. It will offer physicians improved access to patient data in a timely manner. The platform aims to improve interoperability, data sharing and care coordination.
Acumen Physician Solutions provides EHRs and technology solutions for nephrologists. Its client list includes 280 nephrology practices, with more than 2,400 providers.
Epic Systems features a client network of 405 healthcare organizations covering 41,200 clinics and 1,950 hospitals.
