Artificial intelligence will transform the way businesses interact with customers within the next three years, according to an Accenture report.
In an international survey of more than 5,400 business and IT executives, the majority (85 percent) of executives said they are planning to extensively invest in AI-related technologies in the next three years, and 79 percent agree that AI will "revolutionize the way they gain information from and interact with customers." Based on these findings, Accenture says that "AI is the new UI," or user interface.
Although businesses have already begun harnessing AI for their back-end enterprise, the technology is now "coming of age to become the new user interface of every digital business brand," according to the report. As an example, Accenture highlights the growing popularity of technology like Amazon's Alexa, which more than three million people now interact with.
