4 health innovations on TIME's 25 Best Innovations of 2015

Every year, TIME releases its list of the 25 best innovations of the year. This year's list includes four health and wellness-related innovations.

Here are those four innovations.

1. Nima, from 6 SensorLabs. This sensor tests whether food or drink contains gluten. Users can drop a sample of any food or drink into the well of the sensor, and using a proprietary antibody, the sensor will indicate whether the food or drink contains gluten.

2. Eko Core. Eko Core is a stethoscope with an attached adapter that automatically sends heartbeat data to the cloud. Physicians can then download that data and use an app to analyze the audio of the heartbeat.

3. Juno, from Fluidigm. This device copies strains of DNA in just three hours — the process typically takes up to one full day. A shorter time means scientists can spend more energy on analyzing the DNA.

4. Sproutling. This device is like a Fitbit for infants. Once it is affixed to the baby's ankle, for example, Sproutling monitors heart rate, body temperature and more. The accompanying app to the device notifies parents if there is any reason for alarm. After the device learns the baby's habits, it can offer predictions and preventive analysis, such as suggesting when the baby will wake up.
