St. Luke's University Health Network posts bundled prices online

St. Luke's University Health Network in Bethlehem, Pa., has launched an online tool that enables consumers to see bundled prices in advance of certain procedures or surgeries, according to The Express-Times.

"The whole idea is to make it a retail approach so that you know up front exactly what the required cost will be," Francine Botek, the network's vice president for finances, told The Express-Times.

The online tool, called PriceChecker, provides patient costs for common procedures such as colonoscopy and lumpectomy, as well as arthroscopic surgeries.

The online tool is available for Pennsylvania patients. Although anyone can access the information, the prices do not apply to those on Medicare or Medicaid.

To access the St. Luke's new tool visit http://www.pricechecker.slhn.org.
