S&P rates University of Vermont Medical Center's bonds

S&P Global Ratings has assigned its "A-" long-term rating to $89 million series 2016 B green bonds issued on behalf of University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington by the Vermont Educational & Health Building Financing Agency.

Proceeds from the bonds will be used to help cover the cost of a $175 million construction project underway at University of Vermont Medical Center, which is the flagship of Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network.

Jennifer Soule, an analyst at S&P Global Ratings, said the "A-" rating reflects the credit rating agency's view of the hospital's solid enterprise and financial profiles.

The hospital's outlook is stable.
