Medical billing makes Missouri AG's top 10 list of consumer complaints

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster has released the list of the top 10 most common consumer complaints and scams reported to his office in 2015.

The list comes in light of National Consumer Protection Week.

No-call and illegal telemarketing complaints topped the list, while health clubs and medical billing ranked No. 10.

Below is the attorney general office's full list of the top 10 scams reported last year.

  1. No-call and illegal telemarketing complaints (41,517)
  2. Solicitation scams (3,528)
  3. Debt collectors, online lenders and other financial complaints (2,353)
  4. Automotive repair and missing car titles (1,962)
  5. Identity theft (1,669)
  6. Phone billing, cramming and other communications complaints (1,657)
  7. Home repair and other real estate complaints (1,300)
  8. Retail purchases (1,258) 
  9. Travel and timeshares (1,125) 
  10. Health clubs and medical billing (1,040)
