MedAssist, Gaffey Healthcare partner for RCM efficiency: 4 things to know

MedAssist, a provider of revenue cycle solutions for hospitals, and Gaffey Healthcare, a provider of automation technology for hospital revenue cycle, have formed a partnership.

Here are four things to know about the partnership.

1. Under the partnership, MedAssist will leverage the Gaffey AutoStatus technology.

2. The Gaffey Healthcare AutoStatus tool interfaces with payers to update electronic claims statuses, and can process large amounts of claims often during off-peak hours, according to a news release. Collectors are notified of what claims have been processed, adjudicated or if immediate action or follow-up is needed.

3. The goal with the partnership, both parties said, is to achieve greater efficiency in parts of the claims management process.

4. "MedAssist is an exciting opportunity," Derek Morkel, CEO of Gaffey Healthcare, said in a prepared statement. "We have long been committed to improving the financial patient experience. That's tough to achieve without eliminating inefficiencies in the back office revenue cycle work. Now, armed with AutoStatus, MedAssist is better positioned to help their customers overall workflow efficiency."
