High school students help raise $40k for New Jersey hospital

Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J., received a $40,000 grant from the Overlook Foundation, with help from 15 local high school students, to support the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, according to the Basking Ridge Patch.

The students serving on the foundation board for the hospital developed a grant application to assess the hospital's needs and held fundraisers to help raise the money.

The students met monthly with the board to learn about the hospital foundation as a fundraising mechanism.
