For-profit stock report: Week of May 22-26

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the largest decrease in share price at 6.4 percent.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw its share price fall 0.6 percent, the least of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare and Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health saw their stock prices rise last week.

Here is how the five operators stacked up.                                          

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $9.36 per share (down 6.4 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $82.48 per share (up 0.3 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $62.40 per share (up 0.7 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $17.45 per share (down 0.6 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $115.92 per share (down 2.1 percent)
