For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Sept. 28-Oct. 2

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Down 7.39 percent last week, shares of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare fell more than any other major for-profit hospital operator.

Here is how the five operators stack up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $42.21 per share (down 5.15 percent).
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $77.89 per share (down 1.96 percent).
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $72.11 per share (down 1.12 percent).
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $36.32 per share (down 7.39 percent).
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $127.18 per share (down 2.17 percent).
