For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Jan. 9-13

All the major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the largest increase in share price, with shares rising 13.9 percent.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health saw its share price rise 0.3 percent, the least of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators stacked up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $7.15 per share (up 13.9 percent)
  • HCA Holdings (Nashville, Tenn.): $79.40 per share (up 3.6 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $59.20 per share (up 0.3 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $18.49 per share (up 12.7 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $112.67 per share (up 3.8 percent)
