For-profit hospital stock report: Week of April 20-24

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices increase last week.

Shares of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems were up 3.87 percent last week, the most of any of the for-profit hospital operators.

Shares of Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America and Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare were down last week.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $55.33 per share (up 3.87 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $77.75 per share (down 0.37 percent)
  • LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $77.90 per share (up 3.1 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $50.62 per share (down 1.48 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $122.70 per share (up 2.45 percent)
