For-profit hospital stock report: Week of April 17-21

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw the largest decrease in share price, with shares falling 13 percent.

King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services saw its share price fall 2.4 percent, the least of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators stacked up.                                          

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $8.24 per share (down 8.5 percent)
  • HCA Holdings (Nashville, Tenn.): $83.55 per share (down 4.8 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $60.85 per share (down 4.8 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $15.30 per share (down 13 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $118.84 per share (down 2.4 percent)
