Elsevier to offer HFMA courses aimed at revenue cycle and financial improvement: 4 things to know

Elsevier, a provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, will offer a number of Healthcare Financial Management Association courses.

Here are four things to know.

1. The courses are designed for clinical, revenue cycle and administrative hospital staff to improve revenue cycle management and financial performance, according to a news release.

2. The training covers how to best communicate with patients about their financial responsibilities, among other topics.

3. Elsevier and HFMA said two HFMA course libraries will be offered during the first quarter of 2017: The Business of Healthcare, for those who want a better understanding of how healthcare is evolving, and Patient Financial Communications, which covers various topics such as what and how to address sensitive financial communications with patients.

4. Additional HFMA courses will be offered throughout 2017 by Elsevier, through the Elsevier Performance Management healthcare learning management system, including topics such as compliance and billing, according to the release.
