CHI St. Vincent to close longevity center in Arkansas

CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock, Ark., plans to close its longevity center this June, according to an Arkansas Business report.

The longevity center, also based in Little Rock, provides care for people dealing with "the physical, mental and emotional challenges of aging," according to the center website.

"CHI St. Vincent is committed to geriatric care in our community and is continuously reviewing the best ways to meet the needs of its patients while providing high-quality care at the best value," the health system said in an emailed statement to Becker's Hospital Review. "To maintain that excellent standard, there have been some changes made, while other items are still in the review process. Even though the location for individual practices will change, all patients will be referred to CHI St. Vincent practices that have qualified as medical homes. This and any future changes will only improve the quality of care CHI St. Vincent provides to all its patients."

No layoffs are expected with the closing, and CHI St. Vincent said staff members at the center may seek other job opportunities within the health system, according to the report.
