CFO Beth Ward: Driving integration, financial success at UT Southwestern University Hospitals

Elizabeth "Beth" Ward serves as UT Southwestern Medical Center's CFO of University Hospitals and Clinics, a position she's held since 2012.

bethwardphotoSince taking over as CFO, Ms. Ward has become the key driver in the integration of all areas of UTSW's hospital and clinic operations. She has played a huge part in the move to UTSW's new, 460-bed medical facility, the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital.

Ms. Ward has also worked closely with the University Hospital's CEO, COO, CNO and other executive leadership team members to position the institution financially for continued success.

Prior to joining UTSW, Ms. Ward served as executive vice president and CFO of Wellmont Health System, based in Kingsport, Tenn.

She has also served as CFO, treasurer and corporate controller for The Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro, N.C.; associate vice provost, chancellor of finance and assistant to the vice chancellor of health affairs at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and as assistant director of fiscal services at The University of North Carolina Hospitals-Chapel Hill, N.C.
