Brooklyn Nets open Hospital for Special Surgery Training Center

The Hospital for Special Surgery Training Center, a practice facility for the NBA's Brooklyn Nets, opened Wednesday, relocating the team's practice facility from East Rutherford, N.J., to Brooklyn.

HSS is the official hospital of the Brooklyn Nets — the two organizations have had a relationship for more than 12 years. HSS has branding outside and inside the building, and the team's practice jerseys feature the HSS logo.

"It's exciting to see the HSS Training Center come to life after watching its transformation the past couple years," said Louis Shapiro, president and CEO of the hospital. "We are proud of our long-standing relationship with the Nets organization, the players, and fans around the world."

The 70,000-square-foot training center was privately funded and includes two full basketball courts, a weight room, a training pool, a multimedia center, media interview room and more. In addition to serving as a training center for the Nets, HSS Training Center will also host youth basketball clinics and community events.
