Here are nine capital projects at hospitals and health systems that were recently announced, started or completed, beginning with the most recent.

1. Construction of veterans hospital in Colorado begins again
Construction of a new veterans hospital in Aurora, Colo. resumed thanks to an interim agreement between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and contractor Kiewit-Turner.

2. Adventist Health to give $13.3M to expand services at Adventist Medical Center-Selma
Roseville, Calif.-based nonprofit Adventist Health announced it will contribute $13.3 million to expand services at Adventist Medical Center- Selma (Calif.), including a six-bed intensive care unit.

3. Commission authorizes issuance of $5M in bonds to finance Freeman Health System project
Joplin, Mo.-based Freeman Health System announced it will use $5 million in bonds to finance a renovation project in Webb City, Mo.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital announced it will double the size of its emergency department to combat long wait times.

7. Wake Forest Baptist to build new $50M medical education facility
Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., announced plans to construct a $50 million, 168,000-square-foot medical education building.

8. $3.1M NICU expansion completed at University of Missouri Children's Hospital
University of Missouri Children’s Hospital in Columbia announced the unveiling of its $3.1 million Neonatal Intensive Care Unit renovation and expansion project.

9. Construction begins on $7M Mary Free Bed at Sparrow
Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich., and Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Mich., began construction on phase 1 of the $7 million renovation of Sparrow's inpatient rehabilitation unit, called Mary Free Bed at Sparrow.
