13 recent hospital outlook and credit rating actions

The following hospital and health system rating and outlook changes and affirmations took place in the last week, starting with the most recent.

1. Fitch affirms LifePoint Health's ratings
Fitch Ratings affirmed Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health's ratings, including its "BB" Issuer Default Rating.

2. Fitch assigns 'AA' rating to Adventist Health System's bonds
Fitch Ratings assigned an "AA" rating to approximately $398.8 million series 2016A, B and C revenue bonds issued on behalf of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System Sunbelt Obligated Group by the Colorado Health Facilities Authority.

3. Moody's downgrades Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems' rating to 'Baa3'
Moody's Investors Service downgraded the rating on Bangor-based Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems' outstanding debt to "Baa3" from "Baa2," affecting approximately $143 million.

4. S&P upgrades Norman Regional Health System's rating to 'BBB'
S&P Global Ratings raised its long-term and underlying ratings on Norman (Okla.) Regional Health System's revenue debt to "BBB" from "BBB-".

5. Fitch affirms Palomar Health's 'BB+' rating
Fitch Ratings affirmed the "BB+" rating on Escondido, Calif.-based Palomar Health's following outstanding debt:

  • $159.8 million of series 2010 certificate of participation bonds
  • $229.2 million of series 2009 certificate of participation bonds
  • $171.8 million of series 2006A-C certificate of participation bonds

6. S&P downgrades Good Shepherd Medical Center's rating to 'B-'
S&P Global Ratings lowered its long-term and underlying ratings to "B-" from "BB-" on Longview, Texas-based Good Shepherd Medical Center's bonds.

7. Moody's revises Genesis HealthCare System's outlook to stable
Moody's Investors Service revised the outlook on Zanesville, Ohio-based Genesis HealthCare System to stable from negative.

8. Moody's affirms MultiCare Health System's 'Aa3' rating
Moody's Investors Service affirmed Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System's "Aa3" rating, affecting $969 million of rated debt.

9. Moody's affirms Hartford HealthCare's 'A2' rating
Moody's Investors Service affirmed Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare's "A2" rating on approximately $740 million of outstanding debt.

10. Fitch downgrades WakeMed's rating but revises outlook to stable
Fitch Ratings has downgraded the rating on Raleigh, N.C.-based WakeMed Health System's following bonds to "A+" from "AA-":

  • $283.3 million of series 2012A bonds
  • $75 million of series 2009B bonds
  • $66.8 million of series 2009C bonds

11. S&P assigns 'AA+/A-1+' rating to Inova Health System Foundation's bonds
S&P Global Ratings assigned an "AA+/A-1+" rating to Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health System Foundation's series 2016C healthcare revenue self-liquidity variable rate demand bonds.

12. Fitch assigns 'BBB-' rating to Columbia Memorial Hospital's bonds
Fitch Ratings assigned a "BBB-" rating to Astoria, Ore.-based Columbia Memorial Hospital's $18 million of series 2016 revenue bonds.

13. Moody's revises Orange Regional Medical Center's outlook to positive
Moody's Investors Service revised the outlook on Middletown, N.Y.-based Orange Regional Medical Center to positive from stable.
