10 latest CFO moves in hospitals, health systems

The following hospital and health system CFO moves were announced or completed in the past several weeks, beginning with the most recent.

1. Ken Tillman was hired to serve as a temporary CFO of Houston County Community Hospital in Erin, Tenn. Mr. Tillman holds a similar position at Decatur County General Hospital in Parsons, Tenn.

2. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems named Michael J. Culotta as CFO of its planned spin-off of 38 hospitals and Quorum Health Resources into a separate company called Quorum Health Corp.

3. Capella Healthcare, based in Franklin, Tenn., named Gary Willis executive vice president and CFO.

4. Oswego (N.Y.) Health appointed Charles "Chuck" Gijanto president and CEO, prior to which he served as interim CFO of Massena (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital.

5. Phoenix-based Banner Health announced the current CFO of Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyo., Jared Stimpson will also serve as the hospital's interim COO.

6. Derek Lythgoe was selected to serve as CFO of Banner Baywood Medical Center and Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.

7. Phoenix-based Banner Health named Cheryl Tong CFO of Banner Desert Medical Center and Cardon Children's Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz.

8. Thomas Matenaer was appointed by Banner Health to serve as CFO of Banner Gateway Medical Center and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, Ariz.

9. Darcy Robertson was named CFO of Banner Payson (Ariz.) Medical Center.

10. Brunswick-based Southeast Georgia Health System appointed executive vice president and CFO Michael D. Scherneck as its new permanent president and CEO.
