St. Luke's University Health Network wins approval for $100M expansion

Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network gained approval for a $100 million hospital at its Anderson Campus in Easton, Pa., according to The Morning Call.

Bethlehem Township commissioners approved the 175,000-square-foot, four-story hospital Monday. Although it has an Easton address, the hospital falls within the boundaries of Bethlehem Township.

The new hospital will include a maternity ward capable of handling 2,600 infants, an emergency department on the first floor and 36 beds for patient care.

Construction will begin in 2018 and is expected to take two-years to complete.

"[This project] is the next chapter in a plan that has been together for 10 years," Ray Midlam, St. Luke's vice president of business development, told The Morning Call.
