El Camino Hospital to expand Mountain View campus: 4 things to know

Mackenzie Bean (Twitter) -

El Camino Hospital will make major changes to its campus in Mountain View, Calif., reports Los Altos Town Crier.

According to CEO Ken King, the hospital will demolish several buildings on its existing campus — including the main hospital facility and a behavioral health building — to build a new complex with an open, park-like campus environment.

Here are four things to know about the project.

1. Plans call for the construction of a two-story, 56,000-square-foot behavioral health building.

2. A new seven-story integrated medical office building will house physician offices, hospital support and outpatient services.

3. A five-story parking lot capable of holding 390 cars will be attached to the medical office building. A second four-floor, 430-stall parking structure will also be added to an existing parking garage.

4. The campus will contain corridors to travel between building, a fenced in courtyard and a public plaza area.
