1. St. Mary's, Tri-State Orthopaedics to build new hospital: 4 things to know
St. Mary's Health and Tri-State Orthopaedics, both in Evansville, Ind., are partnering to build a new orthopedic specialty hospital to provide surgical and non-surgical care.
2. Michigan hospital receives $4M to renovate NICU
Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn (Mich.) received $4 million in grants and funds to upgrade its neonatal intensive care unit.
3. Florida Hospital Wauchula breaks ground on $32M hospital
Florida Hospital Wauchula (Fla.) broke ground on its new $32 million hospital, which will serve residents of Hardee County. The new hospital is being built in partnership with Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System, the city of Wauchula and the Hardee County Industrial Development Authority.
4. 135 years in the making: University of Texas to open Dell Medical School
The University of Texas' DellMedicalSchool will soon open to its inaugural class. Classes are scheduled to begin July 5, marking the culmination of various efforts over the years to establish a medical school in Austin.
