$200M expansion at CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center will double size of ED

Los Angeles-based CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center has unveiled plans to modernize its more than 100-year-old facility to better serve the Hollywood community and surrounding areas. The expansion will cost an estimated $200 million, according to the Commercial Property Executive.

The project will include the construction of a new emergency department. The ED's physical space will double and the bed count will rise from 20 to 26 beds, according to the report. A 650-spot parking structure for patients, employees and visitors is included in the project, as well as an "overall internal and external beautification of the hospital campus," according to the report.

Construction on the new parking structure will begin in November and is expected to be completed in one year's time. Immediately upon its completion, work on the new ED will begin, with an expected completion date of fall 2019, according to the report.
