St. John's Medical Center selects Cerner

St. John's Medical Center in Jackson, Wyo., will deploy the cloud-based Cerner Millennium CommunityWorks EHR.

The EHR, which includes an online patient portal, will enable patients to securely message physicians, schedule appointments and access health history. The decision to implement the Cerner EHR follows a six-month evaluation process by a 35-member advisory committee.

"St. John's began seeking an alternative EHR vendor when industry events called into question the hospital's ability to ensure that support from the vendor would continue to be available," according to a St. John's Medical Center statement.

St. John's Medical Center will transition its hospital and outpatient clinics to the Cerner EHR during the next 14 months to 16 months.
