Baylor Scott & White proposes new Texas hospital: 3 things to know

Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health is moving forward with its plans to build a hospital in Terrell, Texas, according to The Terrell Tribune.

Here are three things to know about the proposal.

1. Baylor Scott & White plans to build a 100-bed hospital that can be expanded to a 400-bed facility over time as necessary, according to Terrell Economic Development Corp. information cited in the report.

2. The Terrell EDC said the hospital "will anchor additional medical, office, retail, hotel and other commercial development in the ...adjacent development."

3. Planners expect to initially construct a two-story, 40,000-square-foot medical office, emergency department and surgery center as part of the healthcare provider's Phase I development.
