UnitedHealthcare, Banner Health launch ACO in Arizona

Phoenix-based Banner Health Network and UnitedHealthcare are launching an accountable care organization in Arizona that will provide coordinated care to approximately 50,000 UnitedHealthcare members.

Under the agreement, Banner Health physicians will manage all aspects of the UnitedHealthcare members' care to help address gaps in care and provide patients with better follow up. The goal of the agreement is to improve health outcomes, improve patient satisfaction and cut costs.

"Banner Health Network is pleased to work with UnitedHealthcare to deliver value-based healthcare options for Arizona employers and their employees," said Chuck Lehn, CEO of Banner Health, in a news release.
