More Than 300 Physicians Join Brown & Toland's ACO With Cigna

Piedmont, Calif.-based Alta Bates Medical Group, a division of Brown & Toland Physicians in San Francisco, has joined Brown & Toland's collaborative accountable care initiative with Cigna, adding 327 physicians to the accountable care organization-like agreement.

"We are delighted to work with Cigna to expand the collaborative accountable care program to our East Bay members," Richard Fish, CEO of Brown & Toland, said in the news release. "Our ACO model continues to show good results for different patient populations, and our care managers and the entire care coordination team is ready to work with our East Bay doctors to proactively implement programs and services designed to help members achieve better health."

Cigna and Brown & Toland announced the original collaborative accountable care initiative in October 2012.
