Delaware Valley ACO to add 50 physicians

Doylestown (Pa.) Hospital and 50 primary care physicians from the hospital's medical staff have agreed to join Delaware Valley Accountable Care Organization — which became a Medicare Shared Savings program participant at the beginning of 2014 — according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report.

The ACO will have approximately 400 primary care physicians, with the addition of those from Doylestown Hospital. More than 30,000 Medicare beneficiaries have been assigned to the Delaware Valley ACO, according to the report.

"The ACO framework complements the work we are already doing within the Doylestown medical community to sharpen our focus on clinical integration, a key goal of our strategic vision for the future," said Jim Brexler, president and CEO of Doylestown Hospital.
