Cigna Expands Collaborative Accountable Care Program to 58 Members

Cigna has expanded its collaborative accountable care program, its version of accountable care organizations, to 58 programs in 24 states.

As of April 1, Cigna added seven new members to its CAC program:

•    Atlantic Accountable Care Organization (Morristown, N.J.)
•    Cleveland Clinic
•    Greater Baltimore Health Alliance
•    HealthCare Partners Medical Group (Torrance, Calif.)
•    Meritas Health (North Kansas City, Mo.)
•    Northwest Physicians Network (Tacoma, Wash.)
•    Novant Health (Winston-Salem, N.C.)

With the seven additions, Cigna's CAC program now covers 650,000 patients, and the insurer is on track to reach its goal of having 100 initiatives covering 1 million customers by 2014.
