William Roper, MD. CEO of UNC Health Care System (Chapel Hill, N.C.). Dr. Roper not only heads UNC Health Care System, but is also dean of the school of medicine and vice chancellor for medical affairs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Additionally, he is professor of health policy and management in the school of public health, and is professor of pediatrics and of social medicine in UNC 's medical school. Dr. Roper has a wide range of previous experience, including senior vice president of Prudential HealthCare, director of the CDC, working on the senior White House staff and administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration, now known as CMS.

Paul Ramsey, MD. CEO of UW Medicine (Seattle). Dr. Ramsey heads UW Medicine, which includes the UW School of Medicine, four hospitals, a network of primary care clinics, a large physician practice plan and a fixed wing and helicopter air ambulance service. In addition to his role as CEO, he is executive vice president for medical affairs and dean of the school of medicine at the University of Washington. He has served as the senior executive leader of UW Medicine for nearly 20 years.
