Cleveland Clinic. U.S. News & World Report ranked this nonprofit multispecialty academic medical center No. 3 in the nation for adult orthopedics and rheumatology and rated it as a high performing hospital in hip and knee replacements for 2016-17. Surgeons in Cleveland Clinic's orthopedic surgery department perform more than 7,000 hip, knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, wrist and finger joint replacements per year. In addition to diagnosis and treatment, the academic medical center is also active in research and education, and many techniques and technologies developed by Cleveland Clinic orthopedic specialists are now used around the world. Some of those advancements include improved fracture-healing techniques, building better artificial joints and improving orthotics for diabetic foot problems, among others.
