St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center (Phoenix). The 586-bed St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center — a part of San Francisco-based Dignity Health — was ranked No. 16 on U.S. News & World Report's list of 50 best hospitals for neurology and neurosurgery for 2016-17. The hospital's Barrow Neurological Institute is in a 430,000-square-foot tower, housing more than 100 neurology and neurosurgery subspecialists. CareChex named St. Joseph's No. 7 in the nation for neurosurgery for 2017. The medical center accumulated three Healthgrades awards over the past three years for neurology excellence: the Neurosciences Excellence Award, the Cranial Neurosurgery Excellence Award and America's 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care Award.
