Riverside Medical Center (Kankakee, Ill.). Riverside Medical Center, the area's only Magnet-designated facility, has been a central part of the Kankakee community since it opened in 1964. It now has 325 beds and has earned several awards and recognitions, including being named one of Truven's 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals this year. Healthgrades also gave Riverside its Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence and its Patient Safety Excellence Award this year, among others.
